No-Knead Bread

I decided to try this bread recipe I saw on TV.  No knead seemed the way to go.  Its starts out as a shaggy dough,  needs to rest covered on the counter for 18-24 hours, so definitely not a bread you are going to eat the same day.  That said, this was so easy to do, very few ingredients, which were, flour, yeast, salt and water.  Here is a picture of the dough just mixed.

Then after it has rested for the specified amount of time, you place it on a floured counter and fold it over on itself twice, then place it on a well floured tea towel, and cover it, and let it rest again on the counter for 2 hours. This is what it looks like now.

After the two hours, you place a cast iron dutch oven with a cover in your oven while it is heating up, the temperature is 450 degrees.  Then you just roll it off the tea towel and place it in the hot dutch oven.  Here is another picture.

Last but not least, you bake it for 30 minutes covered, and 10-15 minutes uncovered, until it turns golden, and voila the finished product.

This is not a large loaf, but big enough for a supper time meal.  Its cooling off now, will let you know the verdict.  This was fun to do, no work, just needs time and love....

So my verdict is..... It's a wonderful bread.  It is soft and chewy inside, and a nice crispy crust outside.  I couldn't wait, who can resist bread right out of the oven, slathered with butter....mmmmm.  Well, I will definitely make this bread again.
