Sassy Studio Anniversary Relay - Day Three!

Hi everyone, this has been an amazing event!  Three down and one more to go.  Todays  freebie is called Bewitched, this has got to be the sassiest witch I have ever seen!
I decided to make an easel card and to try something different, I paper pieced her dress, hat and boots, the rest I colored with copics.  I cut the image out with the circle nesties, and layered her on black card stock using the circle scalloped nesties.  Instead of going  with the traditional colors, I decided to use pink and turquoise.  I made the flowers using my cricut, and the lovely border punch is by Martha Stewart. The sentiment "witching you" is from C.C. Designs.  I think the designer paper is from Bo Bunny (I can't remember).

Sassy Studio Anniversary Relay - Day Two

This is the beautiful Princess Penelope, our second freebie for the relay, don't you think she is so beautiful!  Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.  There were so many beautiful entries yesterday, and today seems to be even better.
Here is some info on the card.  The designer paper is from Basic Grey, the roses are by Prima.  I cut the frame for the image with my cricut, then embossed it with the swirls cuttlebug folder, and the swiss dots cuttlebug folder.  I added some pearls on her dress and in her hair.  I colored her with copics.  The photo corners are from the cuttlebug dies.  Ribbons and buttons are from my growing stash.  Hope to see you back here tomorrow for day three!

Sassy Studio Anniversary Relay - Day One!

Sassy Studio Designs is having a relay to celebrate their 1st anniversary, and in honor of this landmark they are supplying a freebie each day, as long as you participate.  The first freebie is called Sassy Cassie, and she sure is sassy!  This is a 4 day event, running each day from 9:00 am to 9:00 am the next day, and you get to use four different images.  If you participate the full four days there will be a fifth freebie.  I hope you hop on over and take part in the celebrations.

Meljen's Challenge #8 - Seeing Spots!

The challenge this week was to use spots anywhere on your card or project.  My spots are on the giraffe, the paper and the border punch.  This was a free digital image from Meljen's over on Papercraft Planet called Giraffe's Necktie.  I printed it on Neenah card stock and colored with my copics.  I just love this image he is so cute!  I think I'll call him Fred.  I wonder what my husband will think!
The designer paper was some I picked up at the dollar store, along with the blue gems framing the picture.The border punch is called "dots" (I think).  Ribbon is made by Offray, and the buttons are from doodlebug.

Mo's Digital Stamp Challenge #31 - Flowers

Another week, another great challenge.  I love using flowers on my cards, and I am getting into the habit of making my own, and really love it.  This is one of Mo's rubber stamps, which I stamped on Neenah card stock, and colored with my trusty copics.  I cut the image out with the Spellbinder circle die, and then layered her on red card stock also cut out with the spellbinders scalloped circle die. 
I stamped the vine onto white card stock, using green ink, and clear embossing powder.  The stamp is from Basic Grey, and it's called Swiss Floral.  I used another stamp by Imaginisce called To Love & Cherish for the flower.  I stamped it 5 times on designer paper (can't remember who made it), and then cut them out.  I added a blue brad in the middle.  The flower petals where scrunched up, and then they were opened up again, to get a "poofy" flower.  Then I added two red buttons with green embroidery thread, for a different flower look.  I used an EK Success corner punch, and a Martha Stewart border punch.  The blue rose is from Prima.  I love the look of the red and the blue together, and how the flower just seems to "pop" out.

Michelle Perkett Challenge #29 - Lets Get Distressed!

I don't usually do distressed cards, because it breaks my heart to make them look, well, "old", but that was the challenge for this week, and the design team did an amazing job!
I used Goldilocks, a real cutie, and a generous freebie from Michelle - thank you!! 
I used soft purples for my colors.  For the distressing I used coredinations paper, that I embossed with Cuttlebug folders "D'Vine Swirls, and Stylized Flowers".  Then I sanded them to show the core color, and get the distressed look.  I also sanded the edges of the paper.  Once I cut out the image (spellbinders oval nestie), I used Tim Holtz distress ink - dusty concord around the edges.  Then I layered her on green Bazzill card stock cut with the spellbinders scalloped oval nestie.  The flowers are Prima mini roses.  The ribbon and button are from my stash.  The lace beneath the ribbon was cut with the Martha Stewart border punch.
For an added little touch, I gave Goldilocks a pearl necklace.. Hope you like my "distressing", and thanks for stopping by.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #11 - Sketch

This was the sketch we were to use for this week's challenge.

 I used the digital stamp "loves healing hands".  I printed her on Neenah card stock, and colored with copics.  She is layered on blue then green Bazzill card stock.  I used a Fiskars corner punch for the photo corners.  I used tiny brown pearls for the bears eyes.

I used Coredinations paper - Nassau Blue and embossed it with the Cuttlebug folders, "leafy branch and floral fantasy".  Then I sanded the paper to show the core color and give it a distressed look.  The card base is Bazzill card stock.  I made the flowers with a Cricut cartridge, then embossed them with the swiss dot folder, and added white pearls for the center.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #10

This week we were given a picture to use for inspiration, I chose some of the colors from the picture.  I used the Sassy Grace digital stamp.  I cut her out then layered her on white card stock, and then again on green.  The white and green card stock were cut using Spellbinder dies.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie.

The designer paper is from K & Co. called Butterfly Flat Paper, and I punched the top two corners using a EK. Success punch.  The tulips are cut with a Martha Stewart border punch.  I made the flowers with my Cricut, and then embossed them with the Cuttlebug swiss dot folder, then added gems for the centers.  The ribbon is from Offray picked up at Wal-mart.  It is hard to see in the picture, but I pierced the black card stock on the bottom.

Mo's Challenge #30 - Include or Suggest Water!

To include or suggest water, I used Mo's "Pool Party" digital image.  I printed her on Neenah card stock, and colored her with copics, and then cut her out.  I used dimensionals to make her pop out, and to fade the tree into the background.
I used the Cricut Wild card cartridge for the tree and the grass, and I used beige ribbon to suggest sand. I stenciled on the sun with chalk inks.  No flowers or embellishments, I wanted to just create a "disappointing" day at the beach scenario.

Birthday Cards!

On the 15th of March my grandson Owen is going to be 2 years old.  My how the time has went by, they grow so fast.  Owen loves buses, so I decided to make  him a card in the shape of a bus.

I used the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge to cut out the bus, and then traced the bus onto white cardstock, and cut it out, leaving it attached at the top.  I used yellow buttons for the hub-cabs, and red drop for the flashing red lights, and black pom-poms for the head lights.  The little animals were also cut out with the same Cricut cartridge and were attached in the window with dimensionals.  The number signifies Owen's age and the number of the bus.  Here is a look at the inside.

I made a little track for the buses to be pulled along.  There is black ribbon attached on both ends of the bus, so that you can pull it forward and then backwards. 

My daughter said he was so excited when he saw the card, and kept saying "bus, bus".

I was asked to make a card for the daughter of a friend, and she loves the color purple.  I made this card, and decided to make a box to put it in, instead of an envelope.  I used the Posy stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie, and made an easel card.

Michelle Perkett Challenge #28 - Mother's Day

For the Mother's Day card I used the digital image "Meadow Fairy", and printed her on Neenah card stock, and colored the image with copics.  I used a Folded Paper Frame for the image, which I got the tutorial for on Split Coast Stampers. 
The designer paper is called Scenic Route, and the card stock is Bazzill.  I made the flowers, and the leaves with my Cricut Accent cartridge.  The brads for the flower centers are from Doodlebug.  I also embossed the blue card stock with the Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The ribbon is made by Offray, and I used Martha Stewart glitter on her wings.
I hope everyone has a very Happy Mother's Day, and that you are surrounded with your loved ones!  It's just me and hubby again, as my girls are in western Canada.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #29 - Masculine Card

This weeks challenge was to make a card for a man, and use one of Mo's images.  The image I chose is called "Young Love".  As usual, this image was printed on Neenah card stock, and colored with copics.
The base card is made with Bazzill card stock, and the DP is called North Pole, and its from the Pink Paislee collection.  The image was cut with a Spellbinders round die, and then layered on blue cardstock, and cut with the Spellbinders round scalloped die.  I glued some white beads around the image, and used the Cuttlebug die for the corners, and then added some gems around the cut circle.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie.
It's good to get into the habit of making some masculine cards, although, I have to admit, it was hard not to add flowers and ribbon!

Meljen's Challenge #5 - Show Us Your Shape!

This is another delightful freebie from Meljen's on Paper Craft Planet.  This challenge was creating a card that is not a square or rectangle.  I used the Cricut Wildcard cartridge, to make the "doily" card.  The digital image was printed on Neenah card stock, and colored with copics.  I used spellbinders round and scalloped round dies to cut the image out with.  I also used the Cricut Doodlecharm cartridge to make the flowers, and the vines.  Once I cut the flowers out, I embossed them with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, and then used a glitter pen on the dots, and on the image flowers.  The buttons on the flowers are from the Doodlebug - Tropical Assortment package.  The butterfly is from my dollar store stash, and the ribbon is from Walmart.  To finish it off  I put blue gems around the scallops.
