Mo's Challenge #37 - Anything Goes!

Hi, doesn't that little girl look comfortable, wish I could take a nap like that!  This week's challenge is anything goes, and I used the image "buds" with my favourite color combo, green and pink.
I made the flower with my Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and stamped it with a leaf, using pink on pink and green on green ink.   I added a brown button, and some ribbon, which represents the stem of the flower.  The wonderful sentiment is from Create with TLC, you can find it here
There you have it "my anything goes card".  Thanks for stopping by, have a great evening!

Missed the Post!!

Don't you hate it when you rush to get a card finished for a challenge, only to find out you missed the deadline? Yup, that's me, I messed up, but I am going to post it anyway.  It was for the Sassy Cheryl's challenge #17 - Birthdays, can you hear me sighing.....
Here's my "late" card!

Introducing the darling, and little cheeky "bubble blower", another gorgeous freebie from Cheryl on PCP.  The gorgeous designer paper was made by "moi".  I used two different size pen caps to make the dots, which is probably why my post is late!  The sentiment is part of a rubber stamp set by Popcorn Bear, and the black polka-dot flower was made on my cricut.  I used a Martha Stewart lace border punch on the red card stock.  Last but not least, I used a paper glaze on the bubble so it would be shiny and raised.
Well, that pretty much sums it up, and I at least have a birthday card for when I need it.

Michelle Perkett Challenge #35 - Cutting, Cutting, Cutting!

Happy Monday morning, it's warm and muggy in my neck of the wood, just finished raining, didn't help much with the heat.
The challenge this week was to use punches, or spellbinders, any thing that will cut, even to use fussy cutting.
I chose Harmony Mermaid for my card this week.  I used some Aleene's Paper Glaze on the water, to make it shiny and give it some depth.  I layered her on card stock then used the Fiskars corner punch for the final layering.  The designer paper is from Kate Knight paper pad, and I used the Martha Stewart dots border punch on the sides.  The flowers I cut out with my Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge, then added a purple gem.  So I think I pretty much fulfilled the challenge of using punches.  Of course, she was printed on neenah card stock, and colored with copics.  I added a bit of glitter to her body and hair.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday and have a great week!

Hello, and happy Sunday, although, it's the end of the week-end and that means the start to a work week, so how happy can that be!   This weeks challenge at Karen's doodles is to use the above sketch on your project.  Here is my card,

I used the "Cat and Mouse" image that was a freebie thanks to Karen.  I cut it out using the spellbinders oval and scalloped dies.  The designer paper and ribbon is from the dollar store.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC, which you can find here.  There is always so much to choose from at TLC!

Tiddlyinks Challenge #10 - Embellishments

Happy Saturday everyone, hope you are having a good one.  Spent my morning watching the biggest wedding I've ever seen.  There were 4 stretch limos, and two vintage cars.  They had most of their guests over two hours before the wedding having a champagne breakfast, and they had a man singing and playing the accordion outside for those two  hours.  The bride and bridesmaids were gorgeous, but the cutest were the three flower girls, from ages 4-6.  The ring bearer couldn't of been more than 2 years of age, and in a tuxedo!!
Any way back to my posting.  I just discovered Tiddlyinks digital images (don't know how I missed them), but I immediately knew I had to have some, especially the goth ones. This weeks challenge is to use either buttons or lace, or both.  My image is called "bathing beauty".  I just love her swim suit, don't you!  So I printed her up on Neenah card stock, and colored her with my copics.  I layered her on two shades of turquoise Bazzill card stock.  The designer paper is from Bo-Bunny - Sun Kissed Skies, which goes perfect with the beach theme.  I used Doodlebug buttons, and a Prima mini rose.  I tried for the first time Aleene's Paper Glaze for the water, to give texture and a shine, I think I like it!
On the Tiddlyinks challenge blog Lysa gives a great tutorial on how to color black hair, and I gave it a try.  It's not perfect, but I am getting the hang of it, I just need to practice.
The sentiment is from Create with TLC blog which has become my favorite go to place for word art now, if you haven't tried it, you should check it out.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Enjoy the rest of your week-end.

Movie Theme!

I decided to make another card for the movie theme at SSD.  This one being Alice in Wonderland.  I used the Alice image.  The designer paper is a sneak peak at what Lindsay is in the process of designing.  As of yet there is no release date, but is sure is gorgeous.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Rubber Stamps.

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #26

Hi, hope you are having a wonderful thursday, and getting inspired for a movie theme challenge at SSD.  This week the theme is "Movie Maddness".  Create something using your favourite movie to inspire you.  One of my all time favourites is "16 Candles" with Molly Ringwald, quite an old movie.  I used the image I received from Lindsay for my birthday.  Which was perfect for the birthday theme.  I also used a designer paper that looks 'retro' since the movie has to be about 25 years old, and it was another great find at my dollar store! I colored the image with copics, and added glitter glue to the cakes icing.  The blue paper is from Coredinations, which I embossed with the cuttlebug dots folder, and then sanded.  I also sanded the edges of the card stock.  The sentiment I got from the blog Create With TLC, you can find it Here.  Ribbons and buttons are from my stash, lords knows where I got them from.
So have fun with this challenge and link up your creation at SSD.  Don't forge to use an image from SSD. Can't wait to see you there!

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Use Black, Lilac and Lime

C.R.A.F.T.  is having a wonderful color challenge this week, and it's been sponsored by Sassy Studios.
I really loved using this color combo, black, lilac, and lime it goes so well together.  I used the Sassy Denim Debbie digital image and printed her on Neenah card stock.  I colored her with copics, and then cut her out with the square Spellbinder dies.  I used lilac ink and distressed the image, then layered her on black card stock cut with the large scalloped Spellbinder dies.  The lilac designer paper is by Best Creation Inc - Basic Glitter Paper.  The lime designer paper, is by DCWV - Holiday Collection, is is also glittered.  The roses are Prima mini's.  The black one I colored with a marker.  The sentiment is another from Create with TLC, you can find it Here
Just a quick note, I was making this card when the earthquake hit Montreal, depending on which news you listen to it was anywhere from 5.1 - 5.6 magnitude.  It sure felt stronger.  Of course, I protected my craft stuff.  I guess we should be expecting after-shocks soon.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by, I hope you enter the challenge, and head over to Sassy Studio Designs and check out her sexy and sassy images.
Hope you are having a great day, it's a holiday here in Quebec, it's St-Jean Baptiste.

I'm In A Magazine!

Way back at the end of April, I sent a picture of this designer bag to Cardmaking and Papercrafts in England.  I used their template for the bag, and I used a tutorial from another issue to make paper beads, which I used for the handle.  I entered this bag in a challenge at Soft Pencil in February.  I hadn't heard anything back, so I forgot about it. I really was just writing to tell them how much I loved their magazine.  Well,  a couple of weeks ago I got a letter  and a gift from them, and low-and-behold I am featured in their "Dear Kirstie" section.  This is one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me since I started card making.  So I figured I deserved a brag section on my blog!  It may not be much, but it has kept me smiling for a while....
Anyway, that's my bit of exciting news for this hot, humid friday in Montreal.  Hope it's nice wherever you are.
Hugs

DT Call for Sassy Studio Designs!

A couple of days ago, I decided to try out for the DT call at Sassy Studio Designs.  I was a little nervous, because it was my first time applying to be part of a DT.  I was so excited when I got the email from Lindsay, inviting me to be part of the team.  The other ladies that were chosen are Amanda Newton, Kathy Curry and Lisa Vaughn.  Congratulations ladies, I think we are going to have a blast.
I discovered and fell in love with Lindsay's images a couple of weeks ago, when I participated in her 4 day anniversary relay.  So I am really a newbie...lol.  If you haven't seen or used her iimages you should head on over, you will love them too.  This is the card I made with the image that was provided by Lindsay when I applied for DT.

I colored her with my copics, and layered her on card stock from Basic Grey.  The designer paper is also Basic Grey, it's from the Marrakech Paper Pad.  The card base is card stock from Bazzill.  The sentiment is from  Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  Buttons and embroidery floss from my stash.
Thank you Sassy Studios for a great time, and amazing images to work with.  Hope you have another great year!!
