Outlawz Sketch Challenge

                  Little Girls Soft Pencil Digi's

I’ve had this “Little Girls” collection from Soft Pencil Digital stamps for awhile, and finally got around to using them.  They are perfect for the sketch on the Outlawz Challenge site.  There are six of them, each one as cute as the other.

I colored the images with copics, and then used the rectangle Spellbinders die to cut them out.  I used purple Stickles on the hat, and bow of one of the images, and cotton candy Stickles on the little girls hair bow on another, and red pearls on the bows of the braids of the last image.  The designer papers are from the Kioshi Paper Pad by Basic Grey.  The purple gems are from Crafts.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create With TLC.  I used the Sakura glitter pen on two of the images.

Family Time!

It’s been a great week-end for my husband and I.  Our daughter Stacey and her son Owen (my grandson) are in for a visit.  Owen is going to be three next month.  He was so excited to come visit Grammy and Grampy in Montreal.  The first thing he told us when he got here, was that he took “two big planes”!  After they had gotten air born, he asked his mother why the plane wasn’t moving any more, ah the innocence of youth!

He is quite the character.  One morning he got up, and put on his rain boots, and his underwear over his pyjamas.  I just couldn’t resist taking a picture and sharing it.

We’ve been going to the park, playing hide and seek, riding the bus, and building towers with Grammy’s rubber stamps, the perfect way to past the time on a rainy day!

This afternoon, I got out some ink and scrap paper, and showed him how to use the rubber stamps.  He did pretty good, he really liked the snow flake stamp, and all the colors he could make of snowflakes.  Of, course his favourite thing was lying on the floor and coloring with Mommy.

So, needless to say I won’t be entering any card challenges for the next two weeks, but I will be adding more pictures and stories of the wonderful time I am having with my daughter and grandson.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #57 Sketch.

                            Joy Sugar Nellie

I’m using another one of my new digital Sugar Nellie stamps, and I really love them.  So much detail, and wonderful to color.  This digi is called “Joy Sitting”.

I colored the image with copics, and then cut the image out, and layered it on cardstock, that has been cut with the Spellbinder dies.  The designer paper is from my new Sweet Fairy Paper pad.  The mini roses are made by Prima, and the other flowers are called Shimmer Flowers.  I’ve had these for ages, and I can’t remember who they are made by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenges #88

                             Magnolia (Girl)

Woo hoo two posts today, I’m on a roll!  This is another one of the Magnolia rubber stamps I have been hoarding.  I am having a blast coloring them up, I don’t know why I haven’t done them sooner!

As usual I have colored the image with Copics.  The layering of the card stock and designer paper was done with the round and scalloped Spellbinder dies.  I just got the heart border punch by Martha Stewart, and used it as a fence for her to sit on.  The designer paper is from the Sweet Fairy paper pad.  I also used Prima mini roses, and a Doodlebug button.  The gems are from the dollar store.

Sketch Saturday Challenge – Week 149

                             Magnolia (Boy)

I decided to break out the rubber stamps and give them some love!  This is a Magnolia rubber stamp.  I’ve had them for ages, and finally decided to color them.  I can’t remember what the boys are called, feel free to leave me a comment if you know the name.

I colored the little guy with my copics, and then cut him out, so that he would appear to be sitting on the edge of the layers.  I used the Sakura glitter pen on his wings.  The designer papers are from the Graphic 45 paper pad, and Cappella paper pad by Basic Grey.  I also used Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, around the edges of the turquoise card stock.  Flowers, ribbon and buttons are from my scrap pile.

For the butterfly I stamped acetate and heated set it, then hand cut a butterfly from a template.  Then I added a smaller version of the butterfly in turquoise card stock and then added the gems for the body.  I believe the tutorial for the butterfly was from a magazine, that I got ages ago!  Here is a close up of the butterfly.

Now you can see the stamped image on the acetate.  They were very simple to make, and I love how they look.  It would also make a great card just using the butterfly as the focal point.

Catch The Bug Challenge – Anything Goes!

                     Skelekinzs No Sunshine

The challenge at Catch The Bug Challenge Blog this week is Anything Goes!  I used a Bugaboo Stamp from the “Skelekinzs” set with matching sentiment.  My daughter and grand-son are coming next week for a vacation, and I haven’t seen them in about year and a half, so I figure that image describes how I will feel when they leave to go home!  It’s going to be wonderful to have a three year old running around.

I used copics to color the image, and then Spellbinder dies to layer the image.  the designer paper is from my scrap pile.  I used some glazing medium for the water.

                  Verity Sugar Nellie (2)

I was just browsing around the net a while ago, and to my delight discovered that “Sugar Nellie” had converted some of their rubber stamps to digital images, and without skipping a beat I snagged four of them!  I was so amazed at the detail in these images, and I absolutely love them.  This one is called “Verity Standing”.

I colored the image with Copics, and then cut the image out with the Spellbinders oval die, then layered her on the oval beaded Spellbinder die.  The designer paper is from a new paper pad I just got, and it’s called Sweet Fairy.  The flowers are made by Petaloo, and the color is Tyed-Dyed Gypsies.

I thought I’d post a close up of the image, so you could see the quality and detail of the digital stamp.

Stamps R Us Challenge #18 – Easter Theme!

Can you believe it, it’s April 4th already, time sure flies!!  We are lucky enough to be sponsored for this challenge by Stamp Fairy.  This week we would like to see a card/project for Easter.

                             Bunny Stamp Fairy

We were so lucky to get to work with images from Stamp Fairy, and I chose this little cutie.  He looks like he doesn’t want to give up his Easter egg!

The designer paper is from the Card Making and Papercrafts magazine.  Each month they have free paper inside.  I colored the image with copics, and then cut it out and layered it on card stock.  I used the oval and scalloped Spellbinder dies for the layers.  I also used the same paper to cut out the Easter eggs with.  The sentiment was computer generated.
