Catch The Bug Challenge – Create An ATC (Artist Trading Card)

Well, this was certainly a challenge for me, as I have never made an ATC card.  An ATC card has to be 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, which is pretty small.  I really liked creating this ATC.  It took no time, I got to use up my scraps, and it’s a nice little keepsake!

                                      

The longest part about making this ATC was the coloring!  I colored this gorgeous little Bugaboo Stamp with Copics.  The red card stock was embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder.  The sentiment is from Kraftin’ Kimmie.  So, that’s all it took to make the ATC, pretty awesome!

So Sweet Cupcakes

                 

This “sweet” little image is a freebie from Michelle Perkett Studios.  She is sponsoring the Embellishments Challenge at CDAC, and it’s running till February 9th.  The embellishment requirements were to use Hearts, Glitter, and Rhinestones.  There is still plenty of time if you want to participate in this challenge.

So this image is a combination of coloring and paper piecing.  I colored the red hearts and the cupcake topper, but then I added pink glitter to the cupcake.  The plate and wrapper were paper pieced.

I cut out a heart shaped card with the Cricut Wildcard cartridge.  For the lace around the edges, I used a Martha Stewart punch.  To do this, I punched a straight line, and then cut right to the lace edge, and then glued it under the designer paper.  Then I just added the hearts and rhinestones, then finished it off with a bow.

Spotlight Saturday at Michelle Perkett Studio

                                                           

This adorable image called “Rosie”, is this weeks Saturday Spotlight, at Michelle Perkett Studio.  You can find her at Michelle’s Etsy Store, for 20% off until next Friday at midnight (PST).  While you are there have a look at all the lovely digital images, you won’t be able to leave with just one!  MPS is also sponsoring the Embellishment Challenge at CDAC.  It runs from January 27th until February 9th, and there’s also a freebie to enter the challenge with.  I hope you will check it out!

I decided to use up some scrap card stock and make a tag.  I also used the card stock to make the paper beads.  The image is colored with Copics, and I used yellow stickles for the flowers.

                                 

I also decided to give the tag multiple layers, and used Cuttlebug embossing folders to add texture.  The ribbon is also small amounts of left overs from various spools of ribbon.

Catch The Bug Challenge–Show Us Your Winter Whites!

                                  

This is another adorable image from Bugaboo Stamps, called Jesse Bear.  I just love the way he is wearing his hat!

The white frame is a Spellbinders Die, and it has embossed ducks on it, it’s hard to see them in the picture.  The image was colored with copics, and layered on baby blue card stock.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  This will make a cute birthday card for a little guy.

Sassy Cheryl’s Challenge–What’s Love Got To Do With It!

                 

For the Sassy Cheryl’s challenge this week, I used the “Big Bear Hugs” image for a Valentine’s card.

The designer paper and the textured paper are from my growing pile of leftover card stock.  I colored the image with Copics, and then rounded the corners with a corner punch.  The hearts are from the Cuttlebug Romance embossing folder, which I cut out and then layered on red and black card stock.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create With TLC.

Michelle Perkett Challenge – All That Bling!

                 

It’s Tuesday, and time for another Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge, and the theme is Bling.  To enter the challenge just use one of Michelle’s delightful images, and add lots of bling to your card or project.  You can find all Michelle’s images at her Etsy Store.  Then link up your entry on the MPS Challenge Blog, and you could be the winner of one image of your choice at MPS.

This image is called “Art Deco Friends”, and it’s a new release.  I used the Spellbinders Beaded circles to layer the image, and added purple gems around the beaded circle.  I made the flower with cut out hearts.  I found the tutorial for the flower, on Top Tip Tuesday.  The designer paper is by Martha Stewart, and I used the Cuttlebug Romance embossing folder on the purple card stock.

Sketch Saturday–Week 139

                 

This is the incurable shop-a-holic faerie “Lulu” from CS Designs.  According to her bio on CSD she has a flair for accessorizing!!

So, by now you can tell I have a pink theme going on, I just threw the blue dots in for a splash of color. 

The image was cut with the Spellbinders oval and scalloped dies.  I believe the designer paper is by Imaginisce.  I used a dollar store heart punch for the corners of the DP.  The white lace is also a great find at the DS.  The pink ribbon flower was made by “yours truly”.  The border punch is by Martha Stewart.   The sentiment is a freebie from Create With TLC.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #148–Recipe 1- 2 - 3

                 

I’ve just discovered the amazing and lovely images by CS Designs, and used this cutie “Chloe And The Mushroom” for the recipe challenge at Cute Card Thursday.  My recipe is 1 image, 2 brads and 3 designer papers.

My image is colored with copics, and layered on Bazzill card stock.  The designer papers are by Basic Grey.  The orange DP’S are from the Marrakech Paper Pad, and the green DP is Sugar Rush.  The brads are from Doodlebug, and the sentiment is a Kraftin Kimmie stamp.

Art Deco “Lady Butterfly Birthday” Image by Michelle Perkett Studio

Catch The Bug Friday Mini Challenge – Anything Goes

               
Well, it’s last mini challenge with Bugaboo Stamps and the theme is Anything Goes, and I used “Stella and Gus” it’s the “One Person To Annoy” digital stamp.  They are just so hilarious, they make me chuckle every time I look at them!! 
I cut the shape of the card with the Cricut Wildcard cartridge, and inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink.  I used vellum and the Spellbinders beaded round die, and then dry embossed the circles, and then colored them with a white pencil crayon.  I wanted the white to really show threw.  Then I cut another beaded circle in blue and taped it to the back of the vellum one.  The pink lacy circle was cut with a Martha Stewart corner punch.  The mini roses are made by Prima.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC, and I love it with this image.  Then for a little bling, I added some pink pearls around the card.

Catch the Bug Thursday Mini Challenge–Birthday!

      

So, I’m back today with Bugaboo Stamps mini challenge for Thursday, and it’s all about birthdays!  I used their cute little “Girl Bear”, isn’t she “beary” sweet!

I colored her with my trustee Copies, and used the Spellbinder oval and scalloped dies to cut and layer the image.  The designer paper is from Imaginisce, and I used the dot Cuttlebug embossing folder on the green card stock.  The lace effect is a Martha Stewart border punch, and the ribbon is by Offray.

Sassy Cheryl’s Challenge #46 Buttons and Bows

                 

Don’t you just love this image by Sassy Cheryl’s Stamps!!  It speaks volumes of how we feel sometimes (wink wink).  This delightful image is called “Double Kissed”, and how appropriate.

So, as usual I colored the image with Copics, and then cut it out with the Spellbinders Beaded Circles die.  I embossed the circles with Tim Holtz “Spun Sugar” distress ink.  Both the hearts and border were cut with a EK Success border punch.  The designer paper is by Imaginisce.  The pink/red hearts were cut out with a Cricut cartridge, and the ribbon and heart button are from my stash.

Catch The Bug Wednesday Mini Challenge–Sketch

                 

 

So, for today’s mini challenge at Bugaboo Stamps, I used another of the little girl images, and this one is called “Becca”.  I decided to use it for a 1st birthday card.  I made the sentiment using PSE.

I colored her with copics.  The designer paper is some I’ve aged for a while, so I don’t remember who makes it.  I stamped the balloons, then colored them with copics, and then added some paper glaze to give them depth and make them shine.  The flower border I picked up at Wal-Mart, it’s self-adhesive.

Catch The Bug Tuesday Mini Challenge–Bling!

This is the second mini challenges with Bugaboo Stamps to celebrate their 1st birthday.  The theme is bling, and we were given this cute little “Clown” image to play with.

                               

So, I decided to keep it simple, and let the image take center stage.  I used vellum to make a sleeve for the card, then I stamped and embossed it with silver embossing powder to make it sparkly.  To finish it off I wrapped it with purple ribbon tied with a bow.  I used the Sakura puff pens to add dimension on the flowers, which unfortunately you can’t see in the pictures.  To give it more bling I added purple gems in the corners.

What A Cutie Patootie!

               

This was originally going to be my entry for the Tuesday mini challenge at Bugaboo Stamps, but I just happened to notice they are giving  you an image to do the challenge with, so I decided to post it anyway, because she is such a cutie!

This adorable image is called “Emma”.  I just love the expression on her face.  I colored her with copics, and then layered the image multiple times using the Spellbinder round and scalloped dies.  The designer paper is by Autumn Leaves.  I used the Swirls embossing folder by Cuttlebug on the green card stock.  The sentiment I created using PSE.  To “bling” it up, I add pink pearls, and green gems around the image, and pink glitter on her sleeve and heart.  I also gave her pink pearls for ear-rings.

Catch The Bug Monday Challenge–Blue and White

                 

Bugaboo Stamps is celebrating their 1st birthday, and they are having 5 mini challenges this week.  Monday’s challenge is to create a card/project using the colors blue and white.  They have all kinds of prizes, and an amazing blog hop, I hope you will check it out!

This gorgeous little girl image was a Friday freebie over at Bugaboo Stamps, and she is part of the “Sewing Sunbonnets” set, and this one is called Sewing Sunbonnets Thread.

I used Copics to color her, and layered her on blue then white cardstock.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the white lace.  The sentiment is a rubber stamp I’ve had for ages, and I thought it was a perfect match for this little sewer.  The designer paper is from BoBunny.

Bugaboo Stamps Birthday Challenge!

                 

Bugaboo Stamps is celebrating their 1st Birthday today, and their challenge is to create a birthday card.  I’m a new kid on the block as far as Bugaboo Stamps go, and I have to say it was “love at first sight”!   This stamp is called Stella Aged To Perfection”, and I think she is just a hoot!  I am making this card for a wonderful lady who will be 95 years young this month, and I think she will get a kick out of Stella.

I colored the image with Copics, but paper pieced her hat and balloon.  The designer paper is from Kaiser Craft and it’s called Blushed.  The lace is done with a Martha Stewart border punch.  The sentiment comes with the digital image.  I used the Romance Embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  I also added some glaze to her glasses to make them shine and give them some depth (hard to see in the picture).

MOONROSE FAIRY

This gorgeous image is called “Moonrose Fairy”, from Michelle Perkett Studios.  You can purchase her at Michelle’s Etsy Store, for 20% off this week, until midnight, January 21st PST time.

                  

As usual, she is colored with copics.  I distressed the edges of the images, then added distress ink by Tim Holtz.  The color is “Peeled Paint”.  The glitter is Crystal Clear Stickles, and a Sakura Glitter pen.  I love this designer paper by K&Company, the pink is the reversed side.  The rosebuds I made with the scraps of DP, and just added some green seed beads for the centers.  The lace effect is a Martha Stewart Border punch.

Catch The Bug–Let’s Emboss It!

                 

 

Isn’t she just the sweetest little thing!  This was a freebie on Paper Craft Planet, and I believe she is called Page (not sure).  The challenge on Catch The Bug was to emboss somewhere on your card.  I used the Romance embossing folder by Cuttlebug for the panels, and the Birthday embossing folder for the center panel which is a sparkly white vellum.  The image is colored with copics, and cut out and layered with the Spellbinder oval and scalloped dies.  The tag is also a Spellbinder die.  The sentiment is from C.C. Designs.  The flower is handmade, and I added white seed beads for the center.  The ribbon is by Offray.

Sassy Cheryl’s Challenge #44–Use The Color Blue

                  

 

The challenge this week at Sassy Cheryl’s is to use the color blue, along with one of her gorgeous images.  This one was a freebie on Paper Craft Planet.  I just love it!

So, as usual I colored the image with my copics.  Then layered the image on card stock.  The designer paper is from BoBunny.  I cut out the cute skates with the Cricut Winter Wonderland cartridge, and the snowflakes with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.  The blue panel was embossed with the Snowflake folder from Cuttlebug.  I also added some baby blue Stickles to the sweater and scarf, and yellow stickles for the star on the scarf.  The sentiment is from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.  The buttons and ribbon are from my stash.

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge #27–Card and Matching 3D Gift!

                          

                                                

For the Fussy and Fancy challenge I made a birthday card for the celebration, and a paper windmill for the 3D matching gift.  The image “Wishing Star Angel” is from Michelle Perkett Studio.  This image is also our Saturday spotlight on the Michelle Perkett Challenge Blog this week.  You can purchase her at Michelle’s Etsy Store, and she is having a fabulous 50% off sale on all her images starting January 7th at midnight PST until January 9th midnight PST.

I colored the image with copics, and then layered her on yellow cardstock.  I used the Martha Stewart corner and border punch on the pink layer of cardstock to frame the image.  the designer paper is from K&Company – Wild Raspberry paper pad.  I embossed the yellow card stock with the Moroccan Screen embossing folder from Cuttlebug, then just ripped the edges.  The bow is made from the yellow card stock, and the designer paper. Then  I used yellow and crystal stickles on the stars.  I decided to use bright spring colors, because I was tired of the typical greens reds and blues for this time of year.  The windmill is made with the same pink cardstock and punches.  The brad in the center of the windmill, I made with my trusty brad maker.

Catch The Bug Challenge–Anything Goes!

                   
                                                           

I love the “Stella” images at Catch the Bug store.  This one was a freebie and she is called “Stella and So Many Candles” with the sentiment to go with it.  I sure know how she feels, I got a birthday coming up, and there will definitely be too many candles to blow out!!

The layout for the card is a Sketch challenge at  Create4fun challenge blog.  I colored the image with copics, and used the Spellbinder round and scalloped dies to cut and layer the image.  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.  I used frosty pink stickles on the present, and clear stickles on the candles and her hat.  I also used liquid applique on the frosting and then added some clear glitter.  The flowers were made from the matching cardstock (leftovers).  I also made a gift bookmark to go with the card.  The tassel is made from embroidery thread.  The ribbon and brads are leftover stash.

The digital stamp is from Bee Crafty, and its called “Whimsical Girl and Snowman”.  I colored her with copics, and then used the Spellbinders rectangle and scalloped dies to cut out and layer the image.  The red cardstock was embossed with the large dot Cuttlebug embossing folder.   Then I used the black Sakura glaze pen on the buttons of both the girl’s coat and the snowman.  I added white flock on the trim of the coat, hat and boots.  The large snowflakes were cut with the Martha Stewart punch.  Gems, buttons and ribbon are from my stash.  The sentiment is from Kraftin’ Kimmie stamps.  The designer paper is from BoBunny’s Midnight Frost paper pad.

Michelle Perkett Challenge #61–Anything Goes!

It’s time for our first challenge of 2011!  Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to relax, so we thought we would give you an easy theme for this week, which is “Anything Goes”.  So, the only rule this week is to use an MPS image and create anything  your heart desires!  The winner will be awarded an  image of their choice from Michelle’s Etsy Store.  Don’t forget to link up your post to the MPS Blog.


                   


I used “Magical Alchemy”, to create this New Years card.  This is one of my favourite older images of Michelle’s.  I couldn’t wait to color him up!  I colored him with copics, and used my new Spellbinders Octagon dies.  I used Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy distress ink around the image.  Then I added some glitter to his hat, feather, and swirls coming from his hands with a Sakura glitter pen (hard to see in the picture).  the sentiment is mine, I created it with PSE.  I also made the buckle for the ribbon with the small octagon die.  Ribbon, pearls and designer paper are from my stash.
