So, the image I am using is called “Checking FB” by Mo’s Digital Pencil.  I thought it would be a great image for a Mother’s Day card, or girl friends birthday card.  The cute sentiment is a freebie from Create With TLC. 

I colored the image with Copics, and then used Lavish Lilac Fun Flock on her slippers and the trim of her house-coat.  The designer paper is a Sweet Fairy Paper pad.  I just bought this pad and I love all the papers and designs!  I’ve also used Prima mini roses, a butterfly charm, doodlebug gems and button, and lace and ribbon from my stash.

Catch The Bug Challenge–Baby Steps!

                    

This is “Deacon”, and he is all prepared to catch some bugs!  He is of course, another cute digital image by Bugaboo Stamps.

I colored the image with copics, and then used the Spellbinder round and scalloped dies to layer the image.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create With TLC.  The designer paper was made by Around The Block , and it’s called Buzz Buzz.

Priscilla’s Attitude – By C.S. Designs

                 

Happy Monday, I hope you all had a great week-end!  It’s time for another card using C.S. Designs.  This little gem is called “Priscilla’s Attitude”, I love the hands on her hips, having two daughters I can surely relate to that!!

Today I used copics on her hair and skin, but I used some left over designer paper to paper piece her outfit.  The designer paper on the card and outfit is from Minds Eye Summer Papers.  It was a freebie with Card Making and Papercrafts Magazine.  I love how it all just comes together.  The flowers are from Prima.  The sentiment is a stamp from Kraftin Kimmie.  The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Stamps R Us Challenge #17–Celebrate Spring!

Can you believe it, it’s March 21st already!!  Are you ready for another great challenge with us at Stamps R Us?  We are being sponsored this time by Tiffany Doodle Stamps.  I hope you will check them out, there are lots and lots of gorgeous digital images to chose from!  The theme this week, is to create a card/project to Celebrate Spring, and I don’t know about you, but I am so glad winter is finally over in my neck of the woods!

I am using one of the image from Tiffany Doodle Stamps, and it’s the “Dogwood Branch”.

                 

I really loved this image when I saw it, and I thought it would be beautiful in blue.  I colored the image with copics, and then layered it on baby blue and cream card stock.  I used a embossing folder from Cuttlebug, and a border punch by Martha Stewart.  The lace and butterfly are finds from the dollar store.  The butterfly was originally white, but I used my copics to color it blue.  The designer paper is from previous left overs, sorry I can’t remember who makes it.  I found the sentiment on the Create With TLC blog.

Simon Says Stamps - Happy Birthday Challenge

                  

This cute image is a rubber stamp from Penny Black.  What a perfect image for birthdays, and for the “Happy Birthday” challenge at Simon Says Stamps blog.

I colored the image with copics, and then layered it on cardstock.  The layout for the image is a sketch from Friday Sketchers.  The designer papers are from the Olivia Paper Pad by Basic Grey.  The border punch is by Martha Stewart.  The doily is sponged with a distress ink by Tim Holtz.  I used the Sakura Glitter pen on the candles.  I love this sentiment, it was a freebie from Create With TLC.

Catch The Bug Challenge – Scallops Anyone!

                   

The challenge this week at Catch The Bug is “Scallops”.  This cute little doggie, was a freebie Friday image.  Itchy (dogs name) was colored with copics, and then I cut him out and layered him on card stock, cut with the round and scalloped Spellbinder dies.  I also paper pieced the dog food bowl.  The designer paper is by Martha Stewart.  I added some stickles on the pads of his feet.  The layout of the card is from the Outlawz sketch group.

Friday Sketchers Challenge #145

                 

The image is called “Celestial Goddess” by C.S. Designs.  Chris Stern the artist/owner of CSD has some very unique and cutsy digital images.

I colored the image with Copics, and then layered a sheet of white vellum over the picture, I wanted to create a soft effect.  The sentiment is also from C.S. Designs.  The designer paper is from a Martha Stewart paper pack.  I also used the large dot embossing folder by Cuttlebug.

Sketch Saturday Week 145 Challenge

                 

This is a birthday card for a friend who will be 75 years young this week, and of course who better to celebrate your birthday with than “Stella” from Bugaboo Stamps!  The layout of the card is inspired from a sketch on the Sketch Saturday blog.

The image is colored with Copics, and I used the Spellbinders oval and scalloped dies to layer the image.  The sentiment also comes with the Stella digital image.  I’ve used two different embossing folders by Cuttlebug, and a Martha Stewart border punch for the lace.  I’ve crocheted a flower, and added a yellow gem in the center.

Stamps R Us Challenge #16 - In The Kitchen!

Well, it’s Monday, and time for another Stamps R Us challenge.  This week we are fortunate to be sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps, and they are offering a very generous prize for one lucky winner.  We would like your cards/projects to feature “In the kitchen”, it could be food, beverages etc… just have fun with it!  We were also given some images from Jodie of Bugaboo stamps to work with, and I chose “Ruby”.

                 

I chose Ruby because of the “glass of beer” in her hands, so that I could use liquid applique on the head of the beer.  I colored the image with Copics, and then used black flock on her boots for a suede look.  The designer paper is from the Cappella Paper pad by Basic Grey.  the sentiment is a rubber stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie.

I’ve been trying to use up scraps, and bits of things left over from other projects, and I have lots of embroidery thread, so I’ve been crocheting flowers to use some of the thread up.  This flower is from a tutorial on Crochet Pattern Central, and it’s a ten petal popcorn flower.  I used a very small hook, and three strands of embroidery floss for the flower, then added a green gem for the center.

                                               

Here is a close-up so you can actually see the “popcorn” part of the flower.  You can use crochet cotton for the flowers, but you will actually have more color choices with embroidery floss.

OPERATION WRITE HOME BUNNY BLOG HOP!

One of the things I really love about OWH is their OWH HERO'S BLOG.  It’s so wonderful to see and read, just how happy our troops are to receive all these hand made cards.  They also receive care packages, which must seem like Christmas to them.  If you have a few minutes check out some of the stories and thank you notes, it will make you smile, or just bring a tear to your eyes.

Raise The Bar – I’m, Just Saying!

                  

Last week I won the chance to be a guest designer for Raise The Bar challenge blog.  Their challenge this week is called “I’m Just Saying”, and they want the sentiment to be the focal point, no images allowed!  I’ve never done a card without an image before, so this was a tough one! 

The sentiment is a freebie from Create With TLC, which I cut out with the round and scalloped die by Spellbinders.  I found a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for a quilted card by Jenna Barber, and I thought I’d give it a go.  It was quite easy, and I plan on trying out more quilted blocks for future backgrounds.  I also added a layer of modge podge glue on top of the quilt block to give it a shine.  The flower is made with a pink zipper, and flowers cut with my Cricut.

Hildie And The Big Flower – by C.S. Designs

                   

I have another card made with the cute fairy image called “Hildie and the Big Flower” by Chris Stern of C.S. Designs.  C.S. Designs is currently running a March Extravaganza challenge on the Doodle Artifacts blog.  Is runs from March 1st to March 25th.  For more information hop over to the blog and check it out!

I used a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for the layout of the card.  The image was colored with copics, and cut out with the Spellbinders oval and scalloped dies.  I embossed the purple panel with a Cuttlebug folder, and punched the lace with a Martha Stewart border punch.  I crocheted the flower and added a button center.

Catch The Bug – Green With Envy/Sketch Challenge.

 

Way back in January I won the big prize for their 1 year birthday blog hop bash, and it was a free stamp set a month for a year!  I’m still reeling from winning this amazing gift, and I have to say Bugaboo stamps are one of my FAVS!  So, this little cutie was one of my free digi’s, and she is called “Ava Fairy”.

The challenge this week was to use a the sketch provided, and use green on your card/project.  I kept the sketch simple, because I wanted the image to be the focal point.  The designer paper is from the Basic Grey Marjolaine Paper Pad.  I’ve been trying to make my cards using up most of my extra bits of paper, and that’s what I was able to do with this card.
