Challenge #106 Mo’s Digital Pencil

The challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil is Any Holiday or Celebration.  I used the digital image “Ragged Angel” for a Christmas card.

The image is colored with Copics, and I added some MS fine glitter to her wings, and iridescent glitter for snow around her feet.

I used two embossing folders for the background paper.  One is the snowflake folder by Cuttlebug, and the other is “ribbon/beads” folder by Sizzix.  Once they were embossed I lightly sanded them.

The flowers were made with the Winter Wonderland cartridge by Cricut.  I just added some more MS glitter and metal brads for the centers.

We were all lucky enough to work with some of the gorgeous digital image from The Doodle Pantry, and this one is called “Digging Ant”.

I did a spotlighting card, and only colored the part of the image I wanted to shine.  I love this technique, it’s fun and easy to do, and the card goes together very quickly.

The Bugaboo image I used for this card is called Bobblehead Halloween – Mummy.  I’ve used the middle horizontal line of the Bingo Card, which was buttons, free and sentiment.  I’ve colored the image with Copics, and used the Wonky Dies by Spellbinders to layer the image.  The designer paper is from the Eerie Paper pad by Basic Grey.    The black goo was made with the MS Goo border punch.  The frog/sentiment is a die cut from the dollar store.

Well, it’s sad to say this is my last card as a GDT with the lovely ladies on the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog.  I’ve had a wonderful month with you, and thanks so very much for being invited to create with you!

This lovely digital image was a freebie on Paper Craft Planet last year.  I’ve used it a lot, just because well, its cute, and the sentiment is perfect!  The image is by Digi Kitty.

I’ve colored the image with copics.  The designer paper is Nordic Holiday by Basic Grey.  I’ve used the snowflake embossing folder by Cuttlebug on the red panel.

This week’s challenge at Catch The Bug is a “Photo Inspiration”.  You can get all the details on the Catch The Bug challenge blog. 

For my card I used the Goofy Ghost – Tombstone image which you can purchase at the Bugaboo Stamps store.  The designer paper is from the Eerie Paper Pad by Basic Grey, and I believe the brads are by Doodlebug.  I colored the image with Copics, then used Peeled Paint distress ink by Tim Holtz around the edges.  The tag is a removable book mark.

Holy Cow!

Today’s freebie Friday is a cute little image called “Holy Cow”.  You can grab this at Bugaboo Stamps today. 

I love this image, so many possibilities.  I paired it with the sentiment “you’re how old” for a birthday card.

The shape of the card was created with the large Spellbinder dies.  I took the biggest and just folded it in half for the base card.  The image is layered on the regular Spellbinder dies.  I colored the image with Copics, and used MS glitter for the wings.  The flowers were made with the MFT daisy dies.  The designer paper is by My Minds Eye, and the ribbon I picked up at Wal-Mart.

New Release Day at Bugaboo Stamps

Today’s new release is called “Faith Block”.  You can find this one and others as part of the new release at the Bugaboo Stamps store. 

I decided instead of taking the coloring route for the roses, I would paper piece the flowers, and add a second layer of part of the rose for dimension.  The background was embossed with a folder by Sizzix.  I used the same designer paper for the butterfly, which was made with the MS Butterfly punch.  I then added some clear rhinestones for the body.  A very simple card but with a touch of elegance.

BOOOOOOO…………

I have to say my favourite time of the year (holiday) is Halloween.  I love to see all the kids in there costumes.  I especially love the scary ones, ghosts, goblins and zombies.  The scarier the better, and I have been known to scare a few trick or treater’s in my day!  Anyway, with that in mind our theme for this week at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog is Halloween. 

I’ve used an image from Bugaboo Stamps called “Goofy Ghost”.  I computer generated the Boo sentiment as part of the image, and then added some black stickles to the lettering.  There is also black and orange stickles on the bowtie and heart.  The designer paper is by Echo Park called Apothecary Emporium.  The black dripping goo is a border punch by Martha Stewart.  The ribbon and little bat are finds from the Dollar Store, and the twine is by We R Memories.

Catch The Bug Challenge

It’s that time again!  Time for another  challenge over at the Catch The Bug challenge blog.  The theme this week is “Homecoming Dance – School Colors”.  So we’d like to see a card or project using the colors of your school.  I don’t know about you, but I had to go way back and try and remember our school colors.  I think it was right around the time that the horse and buggy became obsolete….lol.  Well, maybe not that long ago.  Anyway as it turns out, my school colors were “Garnet and Gold”.  If you need any more information about the prizes or challenge dance on over to the Catch The Bug blog.

The image I used for my card is called  Scarlette – Scarf.  I know it looks more red than garnet, but it was the closest color I had in Copics.  The designer paper is by Martha Stewart.  The image was layered with the oval and scalloped dies by Spellbinders. The tag is also a die by Spellbinders.

Sticky Business!

This little guy is called “Sticky” and you can get him at Mo’s Digital Pencil.  The challenge at Mo’s was to use your favourite MDP image and a sentiment.  So I love all of them, but as of today Sticky is my favourite, but of course that changes from day to day. 

I decided to do some paper piecing.  It’s my favourite technique to use on cards.  The only part colored with copics is the face and hands.  I used some pink chalk ink to get those rosy cheeks!  Then I used liquid applique and glitter on the hat trim and pom poms.  I also used some white embroidery thread for the rope belt on his pants.  The embossed corners were done with a Fiskars corner/embossing punch.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I wanted a Christmas themed card for a friends birthday since she celebrates her day just before Christmas.

Thought I’d show a close-up of the little guy.

It’s hard to see by the picture, but I added the boots and cuff a second time using pop dots for a 3D effect.

The DT members we’re all very lucky to work with images from The Greeting Farm.  I chose “Penny Trick or Treat”.  Isn’t she the sweetest little mouse!

I made a twisted easel card, and chose to case the sketch and the color combo which was green, white and black.  The designer papers are from both the Eerie Paper pad by Basic Grey and the Apothecary Emporium by Echo Park.  I used the MS butterfly punch and then glittered it with fine black glitter.  I wanted a spooky butterfly!

Masculine Theme Challenge

We’ve got another wonderful challenge for you this week on the Sweet Stampin' blog, and the theme is “Masculine”.  I don’t know about you, but I find I never make enough cards for men or boys, so this was a perfect opportunity to get one done!  I hope you’ll play along with us this week.  We look forward to all your lovely creations.  Good Luck!

This image is called “Kitchen Knight” and it’s from Mo’s Digital Pencil.  He sure looks like he is having a ball! 

I colored the image with Copics, and then used the round and scalloped die by Spellbinders to layer the image.  The cute designer paper is by 3 Bugs In A Rug, and it’s called D Is For Dinosaur, a perfect match for the image.  I added a bit of machine stitching in orange for just a bit of detail. 

The star buttons I made myself.  I just cut them out using a Cricut cartridge.  Then I applied some clear ink and Ultra Thick clear embossing powder, and heat set it with a heat gun.  I applied about 5 layers and it gave it the burnt orange color and thickness.  Very simple to do, and a lovely effect.  If you want to give it a crackled look, put it in the freezer for about 1/2 hour.  Once you take it out of the freezer just bend the stars in a few places and the embossing powder will crack giving you the crackled look.

Animal Antics!

Woo Hoo it’s Saturday and time for another fun challenge on the Catch The Bug challenge blog!  This week we are looking for animals on your cards/projects, but animals getting into mischief, or having some fun and their is no shortage of amazing images at Bugaboo Stamps that fit the theme. 

 

I’ve used the image Winter Birds – Sled to make a Pendulum Card.  When you move the snowflake back and forth it gives the appearance of the bird sledding down the hill.  Hard to really get the effect in a still picture.

Once I colored the image with Copics and cut it out I added some flower soft to create snow around the sled.  The designer paper is the Midnight Frost Collection by Bo Bunny.  The sentiment is a sticker.

Bugaboo Stamps Freebie Friday!

Woo Hoo Friday, and the start to another week-end!  Of course it’s also Freebie Friday with Bugaboo Stamps.  This week Bugaboo Stamps is offering you the image “Witch Peeker”, and it’s perfect for all those Halloween cards and projects. 

Isn’t she sweet!!  I’ve used Copics to color the image, then used a glitter pen and stickles for sparkle.  The designer paper is from the Echo Park Apothecary Emporium paper pad.  Ribbon and lace are scraps from other projects.  The mini rose was made with the MFT rolled roses die.

In Stitches!

This week we have a great challenge for you on the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog, and it’s Stitches.  We want to see all those lovely cards/projects with stitching on it.  It can be real or faux stitching. 

This week I’ve used a lovely image from Bugaboo Stamps, and it’s called “J.J. Shop For Two”.  This image also comes with the sentiment.  I colored most of the image with Copics, but paper pieced the dress.  My designer paper is by K&Company, it’s the Itsy Bitsy Paper Pad.  I used a zig zag stitch to join the designer papers, and on the Wonkey dies by Spellbinders.  The little outfit is a die cut.

Trick Or Treat – Anything But A Card!

This weeks challenge on the Catch The Bug blog is to create a project for Halloween.  No cards this week ladies!  I found a tutorial for making vintage Halloween projects, and I adapted it to fit my needs. 

I made these two wands using the Bugaboo images “Halloween Brat – Pumpkin, and Goofy Ghost – Moon and Star.

This wand uses the Halloween Brat image, which I colored with Copics, and then used Black and Orange stickles for the sparkle.  The designer paper is by Graphic 45.  The border punch is by Martha Stewart.  The little broom and black cat are dies I picked up at the dollar store.

This is the Goofy Ghost image, which I just used C1 Copic to shade the ghost, then a bit of stickles for the heart.  The banner I made myself, and the letters were cut with the my Cricut.  The weird little spider is also a die cut from the dollar store.  The DP is also by Graphic 45.

New Release Tuesday

Jodie the designer and owner of Bugaboo Stamps has created this gorgeous Halloween Silhouette.  It is being released today along with more of her silhouette images.  This one is called “Happy Halloween Cat Silhouette”.  I love love love it!

What a simple card to put together.  It took no time at all.  I’ve used the “Goo” punch by Martha Stewart, and the Spellbinder round and scalloped dies.  The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug.  Plus I get to say no Copics were used in this creation….lol.

I decided to make a book-mark using the “Pumpkin Magic” digital image.  I was able to use all left over scraps of cardstock to make the book-mark.  The punch is by Martha Stewart, and the layers are the round and scalloped dies by Spellbinders.

I’m GD For Sweet Stampin’ Challenges!

Hi, everyone!  I’m so excited that I can finally share the news.  It’s a great honour to be a GD on the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog for the month of October.  Thank you ladies!

So the challenge for this week is “Lilac and Lace”.  A gorgeous combination!  I’ve used the image “House Work Fairy” by Mo's Digital Pencil.

My card stock and designer papers are various shades of Lilac, although they appear darker in this picture.  I had to add a burst of blue for some eye candy.  The image is colored with Copics and then layered using the round Spellbinder dies.  The designer paper is from the Lilac Avenue paper pad by Kaiser Craft.  The corner dies are by Cuttlebug, and the punch is by Martha Stewart.

Anything Goes Challenge at Catch The Bug

Hi, and happy Saturday, I hope it’s been a good one so far.  This weeks challenge at Catch The Bug is everyone’s favourite, “Anything Goes”.  So have fun, and I look forward to seeing all the wonderful cards/projects that are posted.  Good luck!

I’ve created a card using the “Bobblehead Giraffe” by Bugaboo stamps.  This card was for my daughters friend who just had a baby, a little girl named Cassandra.  I colored the giraffe with Copics, and then layered the image using the Spellbinder oval and scalloped dies.  The flowers were made with the Tim Holtz tattered Florals dies.  The designer paper is by 3 Bugs In A Rug.
