Cute and Sweet!

I made this cute little card for my niece’s baby shower.  The digital image is from Bugaboo Stamps and it’s part of the Bobblehead collection.  I paper pieced the image to co-ordinate the piecing with the background papers.  The card layout is a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

My new favorite toy is the Envelope Punch Board by We R Memory.  This is such a keeper.  So I just had to make a matching envelope!

It looks so good together!

Supplies: Bugaboo digital image, Michaels designer paper and cardstock, SSS card stock, Baby’s Breath embossing folder by Cuttlebug, MFT banner dies, Craft button, Sew Easy string, Spellbinder Oval dies, Craft gems.

Ah, there is nothing like a good time with friends as you lounge on the sofa!  Lots of jokes, giggles and shared secrets.  This rubber stamp “Girlfriends” by Art Impressions speaks volumes to all the above.  I love the sentiment from Create With TLC, it’s just perfect for the image of friends having a good time.

I colored the image with Copics then used the wonky dies by Spellbinders to layer and frame the stamped image.  I added flock to the slippers and flower soft for the collar of the housecoat to add dimension.  I used the sketch below from i {heart} Card Sketches for the layout.

Here is a picture of the inside of the card.  It’s all set to give to a friend.  Hope she likes it!

Warmer temperatures and snow started overnight in my neck of the woods.  Then it’s back to colder temperatures again.  It will be a perfect weekend to stay home and work on more cards!  Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:  Girlfriends rubber stamp by AI, Cupcake cuties cardstock from Michaels.  Spellbinder dies, flower soft, flock and MS border punch.

Sweet Sketch Challenge

I just love the “Golden Oldies” stamps by Art Impressions.  I bought a whole bunch of them last year and then completely forgot about them.  So, needless to say my next few cards will feature these and the “Girlfriends” stamps.  I got so use to the ease of using digitals that my rubber stamps got forgotten!

I wish that was me on a beach or by the pool sipping an exotic drink, instead of dealing with minus 35 degree Celsius here in Canada!

I enjoyed working with the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I colored the image with copics and used a spellbinders die to mount and frame it.  For some reason my papers look more red then shades of coral.  The embossing folder is called Baby’s Breath by Cuttlebug.  The sentiment is an old one from Create With TLC.

A Birthday Card!

Don’t you just love the “Golden Oldies” stamps by Art Impressions!  They are such a hoot!!  I decided to use this guy to make a birthday card for a friend.  Although, he is only going to be 35 he is always saying that “he is getting so old”.  So I thought I would give him a preview of what getting old really looks like…  I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for the layout of the card.  I left it quite simple since it is a card for a man.

Supplies:  Rubber stamp from AI, MFT sentiment stamp, Spellbinders A & B rectangles, Sakura glaze pens, Michaels card stock and Copic markers.

Pretty Little Thank You Card!

I have been working on this card for a while now.  I just couldn’t decide how to finish it off.  I got as far as the embossing, cut out heart and ribbon then I was stuck.  So I put it away until I had an “ah ha” moment.  This is the finished product.  I find I don’t often think to do “Thank You” cards.  Is it just me or are thank you cards a thing of the past"?  We tend to say thank you threw emails or texting…oh well!  I know I would be happy to receive a thank you card, especially a handmade one!

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder which I inked up with a distress ink called cotton candy.  Then I cut out the heart using a spellbinders die.  I did a bit of ribbon folding on the top.  Layered with grey card stock and tape then embellished with a flower and sentiment and a wee little butterfly!   Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Supplies: MFT stamp and flower die, Cuttlebug embossing folder, MS butterfly and border punch, SSS heart stamp, Little B Tape and Spellbinders die.

Sketch Saturday Challenge

I had fun working with this sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge.  I also used a few different techniques to get to the finished product.

I used two embossing folders on the background card stock.  First I inked up the birthday folder by Cuttlebug with periwinkle ink and then ran it threw the machine.  Then I put the same piece of card stock in the Swiss dot folder and ran that threw the machine.   It created this background.  The birthday embossing folder lost the embossing and the Swiss dots folder became prominent.  I hope I explained this clear enough.

I found a tutorial on Pinterest on how to use corner and border punches to create any size you want instead of being stuck with the sizes specified on the information sheet.  It’s pretty easy to do.  I will place a link to this tutorial at the end of the posting.  The woman says it can be done with any corner/border punches!

New Year–New Stash!

Living in Canada is a beautiful thing!  Dealing with the extreme weather conditions is not so beautiful!.  Last week we suffered through days of frigid cold weather.  One day it actually went down to –55 C. with the wind chill.  Today it’s plus 7 C. and pouring rain.  I see lots of icy roads in my future!  On the plus side it’s a perfect day to play around with some of my new Christmas stash.

One of my favorite things is receiving Simon Says Stamps kits.  I just got the January card kit.  I decided to start making a Valentine’s Day card since the kit was all about Valentine’s day.

Here is a cute little picture of my creation!

I love the little monster.  It’s nice to have something fun instead of always mushy…lol.  Everything on the card is from the kit.  Except for the dies and ink.  The black washi tape is from another card kit from last year.  It’s hard to tell from the picture but the layering card stock is a dark grey and not black.  I paper pieced the little monster and used sakura glazed pens on the eyes and tongue.  I got the idea to paper piece the monster from the insert that comes with the kit.

Supplies: SSS Only Have Eyes For You Stamp Set, 6x6 paper pad Fancy Pants Beloved Collection, Hero Arts Clear Gemstones, Bazzill card stock – marshmallow and dark grey.
