It Was Snowing……

So I made a Christmas card!

Thoughts of spring flowers and Easter flew out the window yesterday.  It was snowing, it was piling up and we knew there would be lots of shoveling to do once it was over.  So, I made a Christmas card, wouldn’t you?

This is a digital stamp from Mo’s Digital Pencil.  The image is called ‘Irma & Vieno’.  I used Copics to color the image then I cut it out and popped it up with dimensional foam and layered it on the Spellbinders Ornament die.  I added some white flower soft to give the texture of snow around their feet.  I used liquid applique with MS Clear glitter on the hats, pom poms and the boots.  Then I added some brown pearls for the buttons on the coat.  The designer paper is ‘Home For The Holidays’ by Doodlebug.  The sentiment is from the ‘Merry Everything’ clear stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.  An MS punch for the snowflakes.

No more thoughts of winter today.  It’s beautiful here.  The sun in shining and the snow is melting.  Warmer weather is in my future!  Have a great week!

Simple Birthday Card Using Vellum

It’s Sunday morning here and snowing like it’s the first day of winter!  It seems that there is no end in sight to the snow and cold weather.  I decided to make a card using up some of the pastel vellum that I have, hoping to inspire the feeling of Spring!  As long as I don’t turn around and look out the window, I can believe it is finally a beautiful spring day outside.  The card base is white cardstock from Simon Says Stamp.  Everything else is made using vellum.  The white vellum was embosses/die cut using the Marianne Design folder.  It’s hard to see in the picture but the vellum is embossed with roses.  I used the MFT Die-namics leafy flourish and flower trio.  The butterfly and border are Martha Stewart punches.  The birthday sentiment is a die from Simon Says Stamp.

A Little Bit OF Spring!

A little bit of Spring with “Tilda” to help deal with the cold weather and the snow that is expected here today!  Oh, Spring where are you!!

I colored the image with Copics using blues, browns and white to correspond with the Magnolia Down Under challenge.  The designer papers are from the ‘Country Boutique’ paper pad which was made exclusively for Simon Says Stamp.  I think I have had that paper for a few years.  The sentiment is from the SSS Always and Forever Stamps.  Ribbon, lace and pearls are by Crafts.  The flower was made with a MS flower punch and the branch behind it was a McGill punch.  I used blue vellum for both the flower and branch.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

A Card For Mum!

There’s a new club in town!  It’s called “Bronte and Bella’s Clubhouse” and you can join on Facebook.  We were spoiled and given this cute little “Bella” to practice coloring hair.  There is also a challenge on Facebook using this image.  Once I colored her up I figured I might as well go ahead and make a card for a ‘Mum’.  This could be used for a birthday or Mother’s day card.  I always color with Copics and the colors I used on her hair were E18, E17, E15 and E13.  For her skin I used E11, E00 and E000.  Her shirt I used BG18, BG15, BG13 and BG11.  Corners are dies by Cuttlebug, flowers are by Prima, and ‘Mum’ is a die from Simon Says Stamp. Have a wonderful weekend!

This is the sketch I used for the card layout.

Special Lady!

I created this card using another of my long forgotten rubber stamps.  I know most times her hair is brown, blonde or black, but I wanted to try a mauve coloring that I found on Pinterest.  The Copic colors used were V09, V06, V05, V04 and V01.  She kind of looks cute with mauve hair!  I used the spellbinder round dies and made a opening in the card and added a different background paper.  It was popped up with dimensional foam.  The balloons and the ‘daughter’ sentiment are dies from Simon Says Stamp.  The happy birthday was stamped using the ‘handwriting borders’ stamp also from Simon Says Stamp.  The sentiment was stamped using field green shadow ink by Hero Arts.  A few mauve rhinestones and then some star dust stickles on the balloons finishes it up!

Birthday Wishes With Tilda!

I have only ever used this rubber stamp once before and I thought it was time to ink it up and use it again.  I decided to go with the yellow/orange color combo.  I wanted to finally use up some of my much older designer papers, and these are from the Graphic 45 “Once Upon A Springtime” paper pad.  The flowers and flourish are made with dies from MFT.  The tag die and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp.  I made the border using the EK hearts border punch.  I used vellum and white embossing powder on the wings.  These were cut out and attached to the image. Her antennae are from the left overs when I used the border punch.  The image was colored with Copics.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Hedgehog Love!

This is another Penny Black Hedgehog stamp I found in my forgotten box of rubber stamps.  This little guy is called “Hedgehog Tickles”.  I colored him with Copics and fussy cut the image so that he looked like he was lying in a bed of flowers and vines.  I created the background by applying and blending Weathered Wood, Tumbled Glass, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint distress inks onto Tim Holtz water color paper.  I used the rough side of the paper to get more texture for the background.  The sun was stamped on using Mustard Seed distress ink.  The sentiment and sun are from the SSS Color and Sunshine clear stamp set.  The word ‘love’ is a die also from SSS.  the butterflies and small flowers, vines and branches were made using various MS punches.  The larger flowers were made from MFT dies.

Have a great day!

Birthday Girl!

I saw a lot of tutorials for hair colors using Copics on Pinterest.  I came across this one using the colors RV91, RV93, RV95 and RV99.  She called it “sugar plum”.  I really liked it and wanted to try it, so I dug out ‘Lavinia” by  Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.  I needed something with lots of hair…lol.   It is a little hard to see the plum color in this picture but it turned out really nice.  Then I went with the color teal for her dress to bring out the color in her hair.  I am using the sketch from Sketch Saturday for the layout of my card.  I used a MS border punch for the background and added some ribbon.  The flowers I found at the dollarama ages ago and never had any use for them.  They look like paper in this picture but they are actually colored metal.  They had a very bright orange center which I removed and replaced with pearls.  Then I added a tiny little pearl for her ear-ring.

Hope you had a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Head Over Heels Birthday Card!

Ever buy a stamp and then once you get home you are never quite sure what to do with it?  Well, that was my problem with this Penny Black Hedgehog stamp.  I have had it for ages, inked it up a couple of times but never knew what to use it for.  I think mostly it was trying to find a sentiment that would work with it.  So I just figured I would just use it as a birthday card and I am very happy with how it turned out.

I used the Simon Says Stamp medium tag dies and cut out the hedgehogs and attached them to the dies.  I made each tag stand out a bit more than the previous one using dimensional foam.  Then I added some ribbon to the tags and black ribbon to the background.  The doily is a Cheery Lynn Designs die called “French Pastry”.

Happy Birthday To You!

Here is another cute little mouse from Penny Black stamps.  Found this one hiding in my box of forgotten rubber stamps!  I colored my image with Copics.  I added a bow on the balloon using black embroidery floss.  Then I used Stickles “star dust” to give the balloon some sparkle.  The card is mounted on red and then dark grey card stock from Simon Says Stamp.  The designer papers are from my March card kit from SSS.  I added some twine and a button for decoration and to finish it off black pearls to frame the stamped image.

A Hedgehog Birthday!

I found a bunch of Penny Black “Hedgehog” rubber stamps in my box of forgotten stamps.  So I inked them all up and showed them some love again!  This one is called “Hedgehog Joy”.  I figure this must be a pretty old one.  I used Copics to color the stamp.  The pretty papers are from the Echo Park “happy days” paper pad.  The tag is a die from Simon Says Stamp as is the sentiment.  I used the MS lace border punch to create the look of lace and then found a small piece of real lace and ribbon in my box of leftovers to add some more texture or layers.  The little butterfly is also an MS punch.   The twine is by Lawn Fawn and I used some glue to stiffen the curls in the ends of the bow.  Then to finish it off I added some light blue pearls.

Mouse Cuteness!!

Before I give you the information on my card I have to give a big shout out to Lorraine at Lorraine’s Loft for the inspiration for my card.  I so loved the shaker aspect of her card using the same House Mouse stamp that I cased her card, well the shaker part mostly.

I colored the image with Copics and then layered it on purple then green card stock from Bazzill.  I got an “ah ha” moment when it came time to making the shaker part of the card.  I think most of us use dimensional foam squares when making the shaker.  I find that some times the little bits that are inside get stuck to the sides of the foam squares.  So I decided to cut 4 layers of card board from a cake mix box and glue them together.  I used the two round spellbinder dies and they fit perfectly behind the frame.  Now no more sticking to the foam squares!  The little bits are from the MS flower border punch.  The little heart gems are from Crafts a great find at the Dollarama.  I made the card so that the frame would slightly hang off the edge.

Here is a close up of the shaker part.

You get to see the heart gems and the little bits better in this close up of the shaker.  Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
