Hi everyone!!  Welcome back to our first Krafty Skrappy Challenge for 2018!  I've decided to try my hand at creating an Art Journal Page.  I have used the stamp set Merry and Bright Birdies for my page.  Of course, while I was working on this page I completely forgot to write down exactly what I did.  Let's hope I can remember....lol.
So I am using a Moleskine Journal and both sides of the page.  I applied gesso to the pages and let it dry.  Then I used a combination of Distress Paint colors.  I believe I used Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Broken China.  Once this was dried I added some stamped grunge backgrounds using Salty Ocean distress ink.  I dried this off and then completely covered my page with Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium and let it dry.
For the edges I used the negative of a snowflake die and Embossing Paste.  Then I made a branch and using the collage medium pasted it to the page.  I also used the medium to cover the branch.  Then I used Faber Castell Big Brush pens to colour the branch.  Once I cut out the birds (which were coloured with Copics) I glued them down to the branch again using the collage medium.  I used the embossing paste to add the snow to the branches.
The snowflakes are dies by Paper Smooches and Magnolia Doohickeys.  I finished it off by stamping on the sentiment which comes with the stamp set.
I got the idea for this page from Vicky Papaioannou.  I love her YouTube videos!  She has inspired me to try this medium!
Although I still have a lot to learn, I have to say that I had so much fun creating this layout.  I am hoping to improve with each page I create.
Have a wonderful week and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog!

  9. A wonderful contrast the red birds on the icy background. It looks pretty good how you placed the modeling paste on the borders of the pages. Great!
