Hi, it's Tuesday, and time for another fabulous challenge hosted by Michelle Perkett's DT's. This week, the theme is to make a shaped card, other than a "rectangle or square". Of course, you must use one of the gorgeous images created by Michelle Perkett. You can find lots and lots of Michelle's digital images at her Etsy Store.
I made a Scalloped Easel card, using the "Fire Stamp", she is part of the "Four Elements Series". I guess this is kind of an octagon shape. I found this shape on my Winter Wonderland cartridge by Cricut. I just cut out the size I wanted and then traced it onto card stock, and make it into a card. The Fire stamp is distressed with the Linen distress pad, and then the edges were roughened up with some old scissors. All the cardstock was distressed with the same ink.
The designer paper is from Martha Stewart, and the brown is the reverse side. How I got my brown lace, is by using a Martha Stewart Corner punch. I cut a 5 3/4 inch circle, and then punched around it with the corner punch, only I didn't use the sides to the punch. I'd seen this done on a few blogs and thought I would give it a try. I really love it, and it's pretty simple to do. The brown lace was embossed with the Kassie's Brocade Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug.
I used tissue paper to make the flowers. I cut 8 layers of tissue paper with the smallest round scalloped Spellbinders die cut. Then I dabbed on some green for the centers, and then used a burgundy/pink chalke ink, for the rest of the flower, and held it all together with a brown brad.
It's hard to see in the picture, but all the gems and dew drops were colored with copics, and then heat set. This way they match the color used on the flowers in the image. The sentiment is a freebie from Ginger's House, another great place to find some free word art! I used a Sakura glitter pen, on the hair, the swirls, and the tassels on her clothes. Here is a close up of the image.
I hope you will join our challenge this week, and don't forget to link it to Michelle Perkett's challenge BLOG, and maybe you will be the lucky winner of one of Michelle's beautiful digital images! Good Luck!
